Windcatcher-Productions and Niloufar Taghizadeh invite you! The "Salon Underground" will be dedicated to censored art and artists worldwide every year from 2026. In this first event in Heidelberg, the focus is on the current situation: Iran. Over two days, artists from three different generations will come to Heidelberg with their stories and talents. Every year, well-known and unknown personalities, who are connected by censorship and the urge for freedom, will ensure solidarity, understanding and visibility.

Jasmin Tabatabai and the David Klein Band will perform a beautiful jazz concert at the opening. The talented singer presents unforgettable Persian songs as well as stories between the German songs. Jasmin Tabatabai is a successful singer and actress who has repeatedly spoken out for the people of Iran in recent years. Since her childhood, when she came to Germany with her parents, she has never been able to travel to Iran again. There, women are only allowed to sing in the choir and behind male voices.

Before the evening begins, Lisbon-based artist Sharzadian holds up a mirror in the truest sense of the word. In her workshop at 2 pm, she creates small mirror objects that are more than just decoration. This art form, āyeneh-kāri, the technique of mirror work, invites participants to explore their own identity: How do I see myself? What do I show of myself and what do I hide? Crafting encourages reflection and allows you to express your own personality. A special afternoon for all those who are ready to meet themselves.

The concert with Jasmin Tabatabai and her band starts at 7 pm. Her voice, smoky and unmistakable, tells stories that are immediately moving and convey in a special way what it means to want to be heard. Come along, get to know yourself at the āyeneh-kāri and experience how Jasmin and her band open the "Salon Underground". Here's to a magical evening full of free art!
