For the third Advent and a farewell: six hours of "Silent Night" - long live the repetition!

First performed in 1818, the Christmas carol has since been translated into 320 languages and played in countless variations. Originally a Christian Christmas carol, today it has become an international song of peace and understanding - not least because it was sung together by German and British soldiers in the trenches during the so-called Christmas truce in 1914.

All Munich residents are invited to come to the Münchner Stadtmuseum and contribute their very own version of this Christmas classic! Whether as a choir or orchestra, on homemade instruments, with recorder or electric guitar, ukulele or saz; spoken, breathed, performed or filmed... feel free and celebrate!
