Have you ever noticed the small red stamps on Asian calligraphy and ink paintings? These seals often stand for names, collectors or artists and originally served as a kind of signature on documents. From the 15th century onwards, seal-cutting developed into an art form in its own right alongside brush writing. In the limited taster course in seal cutting, you can cut a seal yourself and get ideas on what and how you can create artistic designs with seals
