In the organizer's words:
Singer-songwriter SEASOUL’ssound evokes a stormy morning on a rugged coastline. Her raw and radical take on softness is always an invitation to project one’s own interpretations; her multifaceted voice is at times warm, soothing, and gentle, and at other times precise and clear. Her dreamy indie-pop songs tell unvarnished, honest stories of the loss of companions, mental health, the magic of everyday life, her own inner abysses, and a never-ending zest for life.
SEASOUL’sartistic influences include poet Patti Smith, singer Florence Welch, musicians SOKO and Aurora, as well as filmmaker David Lynch and authors such as Elif Shafak and Robin Wall Kimmerer. SEASOUL grew up in rural Swabia in a hippie-esque foster family. Music played the biggest role in her life from an early age and became a refuge when the family structure fell apart and the budding artist had to fend for herself during her final year of school. After spending a year traveling through New Zealand, SEASOUL ended up in Berlin, where she studied music production (B.A.) from 2016 to 2020. During this time, she collaborated with various colleagues, including electronica producer Yannek Maunz. Their joint song “Goldfish” reached one million Spotify plays in early 2025. In 2023, SEASOUL released her first album independently and without funding; her entire network was enlisted, and so DIFFUS, the taz, and kulturnews became media partners for the ultimately sold-out release show at the Maschinenhaus in the Kulturbrauerei. A trailer for the concert was shown in all Yorck theaters, and the album earned the singer-songwriter invitations from radioeins (Lokalmatadorin, an interview with Marion Brasch, and a live concert from the radioeins studio), Deutschlandfunk Kultur (an interview and live songs), and Alex Berlin (an interview), as well as media coverage from various indie blogs and podcasts.
