LORE (25) is devastated by the death of her mother. While her inner self falls into an unprecedented state of emergency, the outside world also falls apart at the seams. The coronavirus pandemic breaks out and a fog of isolation and loneliness settles over the small town in the Rhineland, where people degenerate into empathy-less lone wolves. Lore loses faith in togetherness and in the midst of this, she archives her mother's life forever and struggles to find a way to say goodbye together. In doing so, she has to confront the different forms of mourning within the family and the conventions that come crashing down on her like automatisms.The days and weeks pass, and it seems that Lore begins to live in an absurd symbiosis with the exceptional pandemic situation. When the rented apartment in which she is staying for the last time is broken up, she realizes that she will never be able to return to her childhood home, and in a final show of strength, she manages to organize a farewell party against all odds. In the end, the fact that it takes place in her mother's bedroom seems an almost logical consequence of six weeks in a state of emergency. Six weeks in which Lore learns to admit her grief so as not to be consumed by it. That the finite nature of life must be planned for and that there is no answer to the question: How to grieve properly.
