Shura Lipovsky is one of the most influential interpreters of Yiddish song - often referred to as the "grande dame" of this repertoire. Together with her ensemble Novaya Shira, she creates an evening that combines tradition and the present.
The focus is on Yiddish songs in all their diversity: from theater songs to works by Mordechai Gebirtig and Avrom Reisen. In addition, there are new compositions and Lipovsky's own poetry, which give the program a very personal touch.
The whole is complemented by klezmer sounds and influences from the Eastern European musical tradition - lively, multi-layered and full of expression.
A concert for everyone who wants to experience Yiddish music in all its depth and emotionality.
