Through the eyes of 12-year-old Juvi, we see a world in which hard work, danger and poverty dominate everyday life. Families live in the shadow of the mine, children grow up between violence and hope. Spiritual rituals provide support in a hostile environment. Slowly and observationally, the film uses powerful images to show the traces of colonial exploitation that can still be felt today - and the human cost in a globalized world.
