A grandiose triad: Mozart's last three symphonies stand like a legacy at the end of his 40 or so contributions to the genre. To this day, the genius of their creator resounds through the centuries to us - as masterful as it is enigmatic.
It is therefore a good thing that Sir Simon Rattle knows his way around Mozart's symphonic legacy and that he already performed this symphonic triad several years ago with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the orchestra of which he was chief conductor for an incredible 16 years. For his latest Mozart exegesis, he has chosen the Mahler Chamber Orchestra as his partner. And although it bears the name of another composer in its title, this grassroots orchestral collective also has impressive Mozart expertise. Only recently, it took an intensive look at Mozart's piano concertos with the "Mozart Momentum" project. Now the Mozart journey continues.
