Sofar Sounds brings live music to places you’d least expect—to extraordinary venues throughout Hamburg. Whether overlooking the waterfront, in cozy living rooms, creative studios, hidden backyards, on tennis courts, in museums, or—if the Hamburg summer cooperates—even under the open sky at special outdoor venues.

Especially during the summer months, we regularly plan unique outdoor shows. Because one thing is clear: in Hamburg, you never know what the weather will do. But that’s exactly what makes every Sofar experience a little adventure.

Look forward to a hand-picked lineup featuring three live acts—ranging from exciting newcomers to true hidden gems. Who’s performing stays a secret until the concert. And the venue isn’t revealed until shortly before the show.

At Sofar, the music takes center stage: up close, authentic, and free of distractions. No loud conversations, no flashing cell phone screens—just the artists, the audience, and that special moment. Each Sofar show consists of three curated live sets, each lasting about 20 minutes, featuring local, national, and international artists. The concept may sound unusual, but it has been thrilling music fans in over 400 cities worldwide for years.

Artists such as Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, and Leon Bridgeshave performed on Sofar stages—long before they filled large venues. Today, more than 130 Grammy winners worldwide areamong the musicians who have been part of a Sofar show.
