With the festival Was anderes machen (The Home and the Movie) silent green 2023 takes the archive of the ZDF editorial office Das kleine Fernsehspiel as a starting point for a historical retrospective, a description of the state and the question of the future of auteur film with an exhibition, events and a symposium. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the ZDF editorial office and the Arsenal archive, television and film heritage will be commemorated together for the first time.

The husband, who met his wife during their student days and experienced the 1968 movement with her, is now a successful entrepreneur. Nothing is left of the former ideals and ideas. When his wife starts dating a Turkish man and is confronted with the reality of the Federal Republic's hatred of foreigners, his marriage is in crisis and he sees his comfortable life called into question.

The film unfolds as an epistolary novel between the two spouses, in which two worlds confront each other: The wife deals with the hatred of foreigners and its causes. The husband, on the other hand, is incapable of understanding this problem.

The crisis erupts in parallel with the economic crisis and the seemingly intact world collapses.
