"Im Park-Biz bewiise muesch dich." (by Rubie Sturm) - Zurich - 11 minutes
Standing together by the pool, sharing watermelon, riding the wind: skate park. Between kickflips and ramps, women talk about what skating means to them. Gradually, it becomes clear what it's all about: being together in the park. Rubie Sturm appropriates the well-known DIY-doc style of skate videos and shows a community beyond dominant masculinity. Skating, filming, feminism in lockdown.
"Lorkzilla and Düsacula" (by Elias Günthner and Noah Weckenbrock) - Freiburg/Ljubljana/Münster - 22 minutes
The 6th full-length video by the Lorke Crew from Münster is here! This time even more spooky and mysterious. Between gray shopping arcades from the times of the Soviet Union and the picturesque beaches of Croatia, there is once again a lot to see here. As always, with an unmistakably raw aesthetic and a penchant for independent, back-to-the-roots skateboarding.
"Dismissing Boys Club Mentality" (by Luise Hahn, Betsi Schumacher and Hannah Otte) - Berlin/Leipzig - 15 minutes
Between Berlin and Leipzig, a group of FLINTA* skaters claim their place in skateparks that are characterized by rigid gender norms. The film deals with resistance, joy and the ever-growing friendships within a steadily growing queer and feminist skate scene. With a minimal budget, Luise Hahn, Betsi Schumacher and Hannah Otte create this short documentary, which is both a portrait of the community and a call for more such stories.
"TopSpoT" (by Elia Lang) - Basel/Cologne/Barcelona - 20 minutes
A skate movie in the form of a card game: what was sketched out years ago as a joke idea developed into Elia Lang's latest skate movie project, inspired by creative approaches such as those of Grant Yansura from the WKND crew. TopSpoT transforms spot icons into a quartet-like deck of cards. This, along with other merch, will be sold and the proceeds donated to SkatePal and Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP).
