Sommernachtskonzert - Klassik und Filmmusik zum Träumen in der Niedermünsterkirche

Svenja Weierich (mezzo-soprano) and Thomas Meyer (organ) have been delighting audiences for some time now with their atmospheric, uplifting concerts of a warm, space-filling operatic voice and impressive organ artistry. For example in the pilgrimage church of Vierzehnheiligen, in Banz Monastery, in the monastery church of Ebrach, in Nuremberg, Bamberg and Frankfurt. From film music classics such as "Over the Rainbow", "Moon River" and the "Love Theme from Star Wars" to emotional classical melodies and a special Ave Maria setting, the two musicians manage to combine classical and modern music and conjure up a special atmosphere in the sacred space.

"I get the ideas for my vocal pieces by closing my eyes and imagining the church and the audience and then I know which pieces I absolutely want to sing," says Svenja Weierich.

The concert is intended to be a haven of peace for the audience in these hectic times, from which they can draw new strength.

Both musicians have received numerous awards.
Svenja studied singing in Essen, Munich and Münster and has received several scholarships. She has performed many times as a concert soloist throughout Germany and Austria. With her pleasant, dark voice, she was the singing voice of Aktion Mensch in 2020 and reached over 750,000 listeners on social networks.

Thomas Meyer is a trained church musician, passionate jazz musician and organ virtuoso. He is a professional organist and also teaches organ and piano at the Lichtenfels music school. He also runs his recording studio "Classic Concept", where numerous musicians produce their music.
