If you ask SOPHIA what the most important thing in her life is, she doesn't have to think twice - it's music. More precisely, making music. And what SOPHIA makes is really good music that touches us and makes something inside us resonate - with a gentle yet powerful directness that leaves no doubt that it hits us right in the heart. It has the effect that we can't just turn away and carry on as before, but have to listen. Again and again. The fact that SOPHIA has a very special talent for songwriting is shown by the number of streams she has received, which amounts to over 144 million, including her debut album "Niemals Allein" (2023). With her new single "Wie ein Mädchen" (release date: 19.01.2024), she now delivers a song with a very special power and message.

SOPHIA is an artist who has something to say and does so even when things get uncomfortable. So it's no coincidence that her new single "Wie ein Mädchen" (Like a girl) puts its finger on a painful wound that couldn't be more topical in a social context. The singer-songwriter, who was born in Wetter, North Rhine-Westphalia, hopes that we can finally leave behind long-since worn-out gender-specific clichés such as the "weak girl": "'You run like a girl' or 'women can't park' - there are countless examples of expressions that are used to make someone feel small," explains SOPHIA. "I would say that I can drive better than many of my male friends. That has absolutely nothing to do with gender."

At the same time, she urges us to believe in ourselves and our dreams, to trust ourselves and to follow the call of the heart! It's not about having to do everything perfectly right from the start, but about starting out in the first place, never giving up and not being discouraged by the opinions of others. Something that is extremely important to SOPHIA herself: "When I set my mind to something, I want to push it through with all my might. It's the same in music and in my private life. When I start something, I do it properly and I keep going until it works. And if I don't have anyone to support me, then I do it on my own."

SOPHIA knows how to express her complex world of thoughts and feelings in multi-layered lyrics - she uses simple words to create powerful stories and impressive images that resonate with the people of her generation. Above all, she is authentic and honest. SOPHIA knows from her own experience how important it is to follow your
