How can the virtual spaces of the internet be approached from a musical perspective, how can their dynamics and structures be reflected in sound or how can their data streams be used as a compositional resource?
Under the thematic focus "Webscapes", the seventh edition of the Recorded Sound Festival presents electronic audio productions that acoustically measure the digital spatial structure of the internet and explore its musicality.
In the large sound space of Stage I, an acousmatic environment is created that largely dispenses with visual stimuli and invites visitors to concentrate entirely on listening. A total of ten audio productions will be presented in multi-channel and stereo format, which will then be awarded prizes by a jury of experts and the audience.
In addition to the thematic focus, the free category showcases a wide variety of electronic and electroacoustic music: from musical compositions, soundscapes and sound collages to experimental works as well as narrative audio formats and technoid productions.
