StabiLiebling. A top piece. Two days. Very close.
A PERSIAN ROYAL BOOK
Under the motto "StabiLiebling", the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek opens its vaults and presents a top item from the collections in its treasure chamber every month for two days.
We are showing our largest illustrated manuscript of the famous Persian royal book, Šāhnāma, written by the poet Firdausī. 26 miniatures impress with their vibrancy and intense colors. A double-page miniature showing Luhrāsb ascending the throne is opened. (BSB shelfmark: Cod.pers. 15)
Let yourself be inspired by centuries-old cultural treasures in the original - behind glass, but still very close: a special art experience and interesting facts about the "StabiLiebling" await you.
Free introductory lectures on both days at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. (no registration required, meeting point Fürstensaal 1st floor)
