TI:YE

Being the child of Vietnamese war refugees, the artist TI:YE deals with themes of the transgenerational past, cultural conflicts, trauma and healing in her music. Multi-layered is therefore the key word: spherical electronic sounds accompany the artist’s sophisticated piano playing and are rounded off by energetic drum beats. This sound is the framework for TI:YE’s singing, whose expression is powerful and virtuoso, yet always sensual and empathetic. In collaboration with the electronica artist Gavin Gabriel (graduate of the Popakademie Mannheim) and producer Rolf Munkes (Empire Studios), this unique audio artistic experience was created over the Corona period.
