SUMMER OPENING: kabiersten X Jessica Ihlein @ Galerie Dietrich
In the organizer's words:
SUMMER OPENING:
kabiersten X Jessica Ihlein
July 10, 2026, 6–10 p.m.
Jessica Ihlein works primarily with purely abstract, flowing forms. Her soft application of paint creates gently overlapping layers that form open and permeable pictorial spaces, yet release a palpable energy through vibrant colors and deliberately created tensions. Her process-oriented approach is defined by an interplay of control and letting go.
Kabiersten’s works captivate with their very free and expressive style. In his paintings, he takes abstraction to the extreme in his naive style, hiding critical statements behind depictions of his own memories and pop-cultural influences. The result is artwork that can move us on many levels, yet does not shy away from presenting a certain challenge.
We are very much looking forward to the opening of the first duo exhibition at Galerie Dietrich, which will be marked by ambivalence and contrasts, yet finds unity in the dialogue between the works and illustrates that even from completely opposing viewpoints, a common consensus can emerge.
