SUPERZART* WIDER DIE EINSAMKEIT

In the organizer's words:

The “SUPERZART* Festival” invites you. 12 hours. 2 stages.

At the major festival “SUPERZART* Against Loneliness,” artists and thinkers come together to envision utopias with relentless naivety and radical concreteness.
What might a self-determined, free, and just world for EVERYONE look like?
How can we rethink the way we live together to strengthen structures that combat isolation and loneliness in society through sustainable solidarity?

“SUPERZART*” will examine the topic of loneliness from artistic, musical, scientific, sociological, psychological, and activist perspectives to collectively seek constructive, sustainable paths out of fear, shame, and isolation.

How did we end up organizing our society in such a way that so many people suffer from isolation? The WHO has classified loneliness as a global health risk, as one in six people worldwide experiences loneliness, which increases the risk of strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, depression, anxiety, and suicide.
We live in a patriarchal, capitalist, and heteronormative society that shapes how we live together. The focus on nuclear families and romantic couple relationships often leads to isolation. It also perpetuates a rarely questioned construct of care provided by women*, who take on responsibility for all care work. This system is sustained and promoted by the interplay of politics, media, culture, institutions, and individuals.

Many marginalized people and communities experience oppression and exclusion within this sexist, poverty-perpetuating, and inhumane system. A lack of participation and recognition also leads to isolation.
As a result, solidarity and emotional exchange about experiences and the realities of life are prevented.

So what would happen if we stopped going along with this, if we sharply analyzed, deconstructed, and questioned the power dynamics that lead us into loneliness? What would happen if we joined forces with one another, standing up for ourselves and resisting? What if we were to redefine communities of responsibility and heteronormative, romantic love no longer held a dominant position in our society? Which social structures are missing, and which need to be strengthened in order to find ways out of loneliness? What would a concrete utopia of a society without loneliness look like?
