Sven Regener reads from his new novel "Frankie and Freddie"

Frankie and Freddie Lehmann, two brothers from Bremen, in West Berlin in 1980. While one has been busy for weeks trying to find his feet in Kreuzberg, the other wants to move on to New York, but first has to live in a test hotel on Kudamm and serve as a guinea pig for antidepressants. Now, one day before Christmas Eve, he is afraid of people, can no longer ride the subway and loses an important bag.

In his new novel "Frankie and Freddie", Sven Regener sends the two of them on an odyssey through a city between worlds, a place of fun and cold, defiance and anarchy, resignation and the will to survive.
