swb Bremen Marathon

The swb Marathon Bremen takes place every year in October and takes participants through the charming city. In addition to the 42.195 km supreme discipline, the program also includes a half marathon and a 10 km run. Young runners can get to know a competitive atmosphere in the children's run without timekeeping. All races start in the heart of Bremen. The marathon starts with the marathon runners. The starting shot is fired at the town hall.

They run on asphalt paths and roads. The Bremen Marathon offers runners a balanced mix of road running and green sections. Once they have left Bremen's Roland behind them, the route takes them on a loop to the Weser. From Bürgermeister-Smidt-Straße, the field reaches Langemarckstraße on the opposite bank and Neustadt. The route follows the Kuhhirtenweg, which passes the Walter Stein observatory.

The embankment path brings the athletes back to the water and across the Werdersee. The runners follow it and switch to the other side of the Weser again between kilometers 13 and 14. The course leads through the eastern suburbs to Schwachhausen and from there to the Botanical Gardens. On Universitätsallee, participants run past the University of Bremen. Through the greenery of the Bürgerpark to Findorff and Walle to the Weser. Once at the river, it is only a few kilometers to the finish at the town hall.
