The Klaus Kuhnke Institute for Popular Music at the HfK, the swing club "Swing man Tau" and the Bremer Bündnis "Entartete Musik" are jointly organizing a swing dance evening.
The event starts at 8 p.m. with a panel discussion, during which contemporary witnesses from the 1940s and 1950s will also report.
From 9 p.m., the nationally renowned Hamburg band "Bun-Jon & The Big Jive" will be playing to get everyone dancing.
In addition to swing music, early rock'n'roll music will also be played, inviting you to swing and jive.
"Bun-Jon & The Big Jive"
Anyone who thinks swing and jive music can only be found on grandpa's old shellac records is mistaken. This music and its corresponding dances from the period between 1925 and 1955 are back in fashion! There has been a worldwide revival for several years now. The band "Bun-Jon & The Big Jive" from Hamburg has been part of the party since 2011. The formation plays at dance festivals and stages of all sizes - all over Europe. Wherever these guys perform, the dance floors and halls are full. With their dance music repertoire of swing, jump and jive, they manage to get even the last tired foot tapping. Let's dance!
