Sparkling, radiant, festive, jazzy, but also with a good shot of baroque pomp: this is the unmistakable mixture with which the brass players of the WDR Symphony Orchestra delight their audiences. In contrast to playing together with the orchestra, the podium belongs to them alone in this concert. And so, under the direction of the internationally acclaimed conductor and arranger Eric Crees, they show the diversity of their stylistic facets: Bach's force of sound and magnificent fanfares by Copland and Schönberg contrast delightfully with the suite from "West Side Story" swinging in jazz and Latin rhythms.
