Quena Tapia Caro, born in Berlin, was brought into the world by Chilean folk musicians. This is how she was inspired to dedicate herself to this path to this day. Back in Berlin for 16 years, she has returned to her roots in Latin American music.
She has participated in various bands in Chile, Barcelona and Berlin in performances and recordings of CD's.

Carly Quiroz was born in Concordia, Argentina in 1973. He began studying piano at the age of 5 and was awarded the title of qualified pianist and piano teacher in theory and music teacher at the Fracassi Conservatory at the age of 15. He later took private lessons in harmony and composition with outstanding Argentinian professors such as Carlos Aguirre, Abel Patrone (jazz) and Marcelo Perea (folklore). He has also won numerous prizes in various competitions ranging from composition to interpretation.
Duo Tango Folk - QuenaTapia & Carly Quiroz
When Quena moved back to Berlin, she was looking for new musicians. She soon met Carly Quiroz. Both had lived in Barcelona but had missed each other there. Now the time has come - they are playing Latin American music together. It is so wonderfully rich in harmonies, rhythms, full of poetry and touching melodies that it brings a lot of fun and passion. We play tango and folklore for you with all our hearts! And we have been doing this for 15 years.
We are also happy about our special guest:
Johanna Wollin enriches our evening with her storytelling skills. She is a Peruvian-German storyteller who combines theater, improvisation, stand-up and the warmth of stories by the fireplace and takes the audience into a world full of myths, legends and timeless tales.

A word from the organizers:
How often has Quena given an event the right setting. In Berlin, she tirelessly explained what the current protests in her heartland Chile mean. She translated the Nueva Canción for us, accompanied feminist events and brought cultural enlightenment to all corners. Gracias, merci, obrigado, thank you!
Today Quena needs support!
She is one of many who lost her balance in this icy Berlin winter and injured herself badly. Pain, imposed rest and no income at all. Something a person in socially insured employment cannot imagine. No commuting accident and therefore no support from the BG, no continued payment of wages in the event of illness.
Instead, condemned to inactivity and dependent on help for months without any income.
How wonderful that Quena has survived most of this in the meantime, she has already been able to give lessons. And can come on stage for you today. But the financial hole is still gaping and huge.
So we kindly ask you to come together for the music, enjoy the evening, celebrate life, applaud generously and donate.
Admission for a solo donation. Suggested donation 10 € / 15 € or even more.
