The Franklin Electric

The Franklin Electric is an indie folk project from Montreal, led by singer-songwriter and producer Jon Matte. The project, which evolved from a collective of friends and musicians, now captivates audiences worldwide with its intimate and soulful sound.

Jon's lyrics are about self-discovery, relationships and the intricacies of the human experience. With a Juno nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2019 and an ADISQ nomination for Anglophone Performance of the Year in 2024, their influence continues to grow. Following the release of Oh Brother in 2023, a deeply personal collection of songs in which Jon grapples with his relationship with his brother while raising awareness of mental health issues.

In August 2024, The Franklin Electric released Victory Songs (Vol. 1), an EP that explores the themes of choices and the reality of victory and defeat. The release of the full album Victory Songs is planned for May 2025, further enriching their narrative sound.

With each release, The Franklin Electric invite their fans on a profound and sonic musical journey.
