The Gardener & The Tree on tour in Germany in September 2026
Few genres have the power to reliably deliver goosebump-inducing moments quite like expansive indie folk. The Swiss band The Gardener & The Tree has been dedicated to the genre since its founding in 2013 and has been creating deeply emotional moments—especially on stage—for over ten years.
It all began with two friends, Manuel Felder (vocals) and Patrik Muggli (former guitarist), who played their amateur recordings for each other in the car and then decided on the spot to give music a try together. Under the name The Gardener & The Tree, the two, along with four other founding members, began refining their indie-folk sound and had their first songs ready in no time. It quickly became clear that Felder’s captivating, throaty voice was instantly recognizable and well-received, as their very first project spent an impressive three weeks on the Swiss charts. Just one year after the band’s formation, their debut EP “Revolution” was released, featuring songs like “mama’s guitar” and “waterfall,” which are still considered key tracks in the Schaffhausen-based band’s discography. They continued to work diligently in the years that followed: Over the past 12 years, The Gardener & The Tree have released a total of three EPs and two albums—and this July, a new release, the EP “SOLE,” is set to follow.
From bittersweet ballads to high-energy indie-pop sing-along choruses, the EP encompasses all the facets that The Gardener & The Tree have developed in their discography to date. The tracks already released range from the highly emotional “kingdom far” to the festive, pop-infused “(fuck it)” and offer a great preview not only of what we can expect from the EP’s release on July 17, but also of what the accompanying tour has in store. Goosebumps are guaranteed with the diverse setlist, which combines band classics like “Wild Horses” and “Silver Lining” with the new releases on the “SOLE” tour. The band will take their “SOLE” EP on tour in September with a new lineup for a full ten dates in Germany and Austria.
The tour is presented by kulturnews and MusikBlog.de.
