"Keep on playing, please" wrote saxophone icon Sonny Rollins back in 2006 on David Milzow's debut CD, thus anticipating the motto for this exceptional line-up. Founded in January 2022 during the end of the coronavirus pandemic, "Mr. Big Sound", tenor and baritone saxophonist David Milzow, with the active support of grants from GEMA and GVL as part of "Neustart Kultur", brings together an all-star jazz line-up spanning generations and nationalities, "Modern Creative Jazz" at its best.

A magnificently inspired band with an almost orchestral dynamic that one would otherwise expect from acoustic jazz combo formats from overseas. With the irresistible groove of Zam Johnson (USA) on drums and the rhythmic peaks of percussionist and Latingrammy award winner Nene' Vasquez (VE), the delicate virtuoso playing of Helmut Bruger (D) on piano and the balanced lines of Carmelo Leotta (IT) on electric bass, a concentrated load of musical experience is on stage.

David Milzow is probably one of the last generation of young jazz musicians who have had the privilege of performing on stage in their OWN formations with prominent guest stars such as Lyn Collins, Clyde Stubblefield or Sweet Charles Sherell from the James Brown Band, Richie Beirach from the Stan Getz Quartet or Jean-Louis Rassinfosse from various Chet Baker formations, not to mention various encounters as a guest with Jimmy Cobb ("Kind of blue" - Miles Davis) or Dave Liebman ("On the corner" - Miles Davis) and many more.

The Jazz-Rhythmics feat. David Milzow celebrate the improvisational moment in their music on stage, as well as on the online release of their first recording "Live in Quasimodo Berlin". With verve and energy, the band realizes a forward-looking vision of "Modern Creative Jazz- made in Europe/Germany": contemporary jazz without stylistic barriers, in which the pull of free improvisation becomes a special kind of event for listeners and musicians. Saxophonist David Milzow creates this framework with his compositions, combining melodic catchiness with refined and sophisticated harmonies and rhythmic intensity.

The video production is available as a stream on YouTube, in which the magic of the first moment in all its "raw", honest and over-enthusiastic vitality in the live club atmosphere of Berlin's "Quasimodo" has also been captured visually.
