The Penske File – München, Milla

"Reprieve", the new album by The Penske File, shows the band to be more versatile than ever before. From the pared-down track "Rocking Chair", to the indie rock song "Black T Shirts, Bad Habits", to the fast punk number "Dead Maps", the album reflects the band's various influences while remaining true to their own sound.

The basis was recorded live in Halo Studio within two days, vocals and overdubs were then created in Michael's Shrimp

studios. The album was an important step for the band. After a break of over five years since "Half Glow", a lot of ideas had accumulated. Travis Miles (guitar, vocals) describes the process as follows: "We wanted to open ourselves up - write songs that were reminiscent of our beginnings in punk rock, but also record songs that were far removed from that. We allowed everything to emerge creatively - and that became Reprieve." He adds: "Writing and recording these songs felt very familiar. Working on music with Alex and James gives me a sense of calm and fulfillment. This

album is a real reflection of our last few years and we're looking forward to releasing it and playing it live."
