Contemporary music meets ancient Egyptian art! The sound installation creates the illusion as if it were the halls and halls themselves that begin to sound and make contact with the millennia-old works of art. From all directions, from far away and from very close, the sounds reach the ear. Fascinating sound events mingle with the sound waves, sometimes strangely familiar, sometimes irritatingly alien. Consolingly conciliatory, human voices join in, declaiming, murmuring, whispering fragments from ancient Egyptian poetry and literature.
The composer Mark Polscher has created a permanent sound installation with 64 channels exclusively for the Egyptian Museum. The work for electronic music with voices acoustically brings the halls and rooms of the museum to life.
An impressive sound walk through 13 halls on 64 channels in 63 minutes.
