The Scratch, a four-piece acoustic band from Dublin joined forces in 2016 out of a shared love for acoustic guitar music, metal and traditional Irish music. They christen their style "Heavy Irish Folk". In November and December, the exceptional band comes to Germany. The recipe for The Scratch's sound is as unusual as it is ingenious: grab a couple of acoustic guitars and rock down a wild mix of Irish folk, pub rock and metal. The result is made for the festival stages of the world, where the four-piece has been creating a buzz for years - from England's 2000 Trees Festival to Texas' SXSW. It all starts with a viral video of a street performance in 2017: just four friends, their instruments and their unbridled energy somewhere in the middle of nowhere. By then, at the latest, it becomes clear: this fun project has the potential to become really big. In 2018, their debut EP "Old Songs" is finally released, followed by their first album "Couldn't Give A Rats" in 2020, which enters the top 10 of the Irish album charts. The Scratch demonstrate their musical DNA and finesse in 2021 with an epic orchestral cover of the System Of A Down hit "Aerials" that never fails to give you goosebumps. In spring 2023, they release their current single "Latchico" - an anthemic mosh pit banger that will incite any crowd to escalate. In their Irish homeland, the shows are regularly sold out. In 2023, the hyped live band already made the USA and Canada unsafe and traveled through Europe as the opening act for Dropkick Murphys. The Scratch will soon be coming to Germany for three selected club shows. -
