We have their loyal fans, the Terryestrials (or Terrydactyls), to thank for the new single from The Terrys. The Australians actually wanted to release a completely different song after "Silent Disco" as a foretaste of their upcoming second album, but after a short but clear Instagram poll, the quintet decided on "Clouds" and also designed the artwork in the van on tour. Even though the song has a completely different character to the indie-rocky "Silent Disco", it shows the band's full range. The tempo is downright leisurely for these guys. Very relaxed, with a laid-back slide guitar, the track celebrates the positive attitude to life, the light-hearted, always-going-forward attitude and the "six pack of freedom" that is conjured up in the lyrics. A genuine Terrys sound, pitched down to a chill tempo and underpinned with flowing synths, the Aussies prove that their songwriting skills are getting better and better. It was only shortly before the pandemic that singer Jacob Finch and guitarists Lukas Anderson and Ben Salvatori taught each other to jam in a trailer park and incidentally founded the band. When they were joined by Trent Cooper on bass and Cameron Cooper on drums and the landlord gave his permission for them to name themselves after him, The Terrys were born. Since then, they have had one hit after another in their home country. This was followed by a sold-out tour, the acclaimed surf EP "The Terrysonic Mixtape" and the album "True Color", which reached number three in the charts. And because they themselves know exactly where they are coming from, they also launched the Battle of the Bands, in which they support other newcomers and take the winner on their next tour. You could already see their live qualities for yourself here in Germany in September, when The Terrys visited Europe for the first time and impressed at three club shows and the Reeperbahn Festival. They have now confirmed that they will be back in March.
