German-Indian jazz pianist Jarry Singla has found a kindred spirit in Indian sarod virtuoso Pratik Shrivastav with whom to develop a universal musical language. The story of this collaboration began in Mumbai, where Jarry Singla set out in search of a “third space”—a space beyond musical traditions and well-trodden “fusion paths.” What began as a musical experiment has evolved into a deep artistic friendship that has been thrilling audiences on renowned stages for more than a decade. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung marvels: “We listen in fascination: this is how the fusion of cultures can succeed.”
