The Try Club is a space to try things out. It's not about being able to do something perfectly, but about simply getting started. Our workshops invite you to get to know new creative techniques, try them out and create something together with others. Without any pressure or prior knowledge. The focus is on the experience, the process and the joy of creating something with your own hands.

The Try Club Workshop - Sculptures after Giacometti

In this workshop, you will immerse yourself in the world of reduced figures and be inspired by Alberto Giacometti. You will create a human sculpture that is not convincing through perfection, but through expression, tension and presence. Starting from a wire frame, you will develop your own figure step by step and then model it with plaster to create a sculpture with a strong character.

What you can expect
You will work in an open and inspiring atmosphere and receive individual support. You will receive an introduction to the technique and at the same time have the space to develop your own style. The focus is on your creative process and the joy of creating. At the end, you will take your 35 to 40 cm high sculpture home with you.

Who is the workshop suitable for
This workshop is for anyone who wants to work creatively and try something new. You don't need any previous knowledge, just curiosity and a love of making things.

Practical information
All materials are included in the workshop. Please bring an apron and an empty screw-top jar to fill with paint.

About the hostess
Anja discovered working with plaster through her Nana workshops, which she has been offering for over ten years in her Nana Manufaktur studio in the Black Forest. There she accompanies people in the creation of figures freely inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle.
She first encountered the works of Alberto Giacometti in 2016 while engaging with various artists. To this day, she is particularly fascinated by how much expression and presence can be found in simple, minimalist forms. She passes on this enthusiasm in her workshops.
