The West is an amazingly diverse region: journalist, literary critic and author Christine Westermann ("Die Familien der anderen: Mein Leben in Büchern") is at home in Cologne, a city with over a million inhabitants. Her colleague Jörg Thadeusz comes from Dortmund and has created a literary monument to the city with "Steinhammerstraße". In her novels, from "Wir sind doch Schwestern" to "Vielleicht hat das Leben Besseres vor", Anne Gesthuysen travels back in time and to her home on the Lower Rhine.
