PREMIERE: MIXTAPE is a duo show by the Cologne duo CHIMERA and combines the juggling and object manipulation of performer Anni Küpper with the scenography and narrative art of illustrator Annika Demmer. Using the means of circus art and stage design, this show tells the funny and poetic story of a journey through time and space that takes the two performers back to the 1990s.

The stage design is inspired by peep-box theater and the elements are moved manually by the illustrator. MIXTAPE thus combines the gaudy aesthetics of the 90s with handmade theatrical magic. Juggling is the central performative means of expression to transport the audience into different emotional worlds. In Mixtape, both artists move together on stage - juggling and stage design interact with each other and merge into a new narrative form.

Thematically, the show explores the tension between nostalgia and reinvention: What do I take with me from the past without losing myself in a nostalgic illusion? How can I shape the present and the future in a way that does justice to the past? And why is there still a fruit cocktail in a can?
