Timm Beckmanns Liga der außergewöhnlichen Musikerinnen
In the organizer's words:
Musical cabaret meets classical music
This show is all about music, and in a new form! Every evening, the boundaries of musical styles are broken down. Music cabaret artists, representatives of classical music and other extraordinary musicians - these are the varying ingredients of the League of Extraordinary Musicians, always put together and hosted by Timm Beckmann, who is supported by his "symphonic late night band" consisting of members of the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra - "Die Fills".
And it's about more than simply putting highly diverse artistic genres on stage and waiting to see what happens. Here, the artistic disciplines hold hands from the very beginning: not shyly, but rather with a real crush. They approach each other and make common cause. And so every evening becomes an eventful and unique encounter that fuses different genres in an extraordinary way. Great entertainment for those interested in cabaret and music or anyone who has ears.
"An evening for indulging and smiling, also for singing and clapping along, and perhaps also good for overcoming threshold fears." (Martina Schürmann, WAZ Essen)

The host:
Timm Beckmann is a musical cabaret artist through and through.
He completed his classical piano training at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, followed by postgraduate studies in classical song accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in 2002. Until 2006 he regularly took part in master classes with Irwin Gage, Charles Spencer, Axel Bauni, Ulrich Eisenlohr, Harold Heiberg, Rudolf Pirnay, Ruth Ziesak, Ingeborg Danz and Ulf Bästlein.
In 1998, he founded the acclaimed chanson cabaret duo Weber-Beckmann together with singer Christiane Weber, with whom he was awarded the DEUTSCHE KLEINKUNSTPREIS in 2007.
Since 2010, Timm Beckmann has been touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the music cabaret duo "Beckmann-Griess" (formerly pro:c-dur) as a successful advocate of stylistic togetherness, bringing classical music to women and men in his very own way. In addition to their duo work, Beckmann-Griess gives concerts with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra and the WDR Funkhausorchester.
In 2016, the cabaret artist and pianist came up with the idea for the League of Extraordinary Musicians, which has since brought musical cabaret and classical music together on stage in a unique way and with top-class guest artists, breaking down barriers and offering up-and-coming artists the opportunity to present themselves to a large audience in a new, interdisciplinary form.
