In the organizer's words:

Room - A Tiny Library Concert transforms the Theodor-Wonja-Michael-Bibliothek - the first Black library in NRW - into a stage for intimate, moving live sets. Between books, history and community, Black artists take center stage.

Based on the Tiny Desk concept, a space is created here that is close, warm and immediate: music to listen to, feel into and connect with. Room creates visibility for Black art, celebrates perspectives and talents and invites the audience to open up new spaces of sound and thought together.

Initiated by three Black artists from Cologne, Room sets an example for self-created spaces, artistic self-determination and a growing archive of Black culture 🫶🏾
