In addition to their ability to make their listeners pause and escape from everyday life, they also manage to seduce and inspire their audience live. Puristic and elegant as a duo, with double bass and drums as a quartet, the two musicians from Cologne change their line-up depending on the surroundings. They always remain true to themselves and never lose their approachability, no matter where and in front of how many people they play.

" toi et moi " are Julia Klomfaß and Raphael Hansen, who have dedicated themselves body and soul to music.

Julia Klomfaß sings and plays various instruments such as accordion, piano, singing saw and mandolin. With these sometimes unusual instruments, she lends the songs an individual sound world. Raphael Hansen is half-French and plays guitar, sings and has the greater part in the lyrics and composition of the songs. They play "Nouvelle Chanson", as they sing in French and combine modern and traditional songwriting elements. The songs sometimes sound groovy and danceable, sometimes melancholic and tender; their music is intended to make the whole of life, with all its facets and ups and downs, tangible. The special connection between the two is based on their long friendship and deep trust, which can be felt and heard both on stage and in the studio.

The two met in Cologne's Volksgarten in 2009, with a guitar and accordion and an idea for a song. This first musical encounter led directly to the creation of their first song. It was called " toi et moi ", just like their duo later on, and it was clear: the language was French. They both immediately felt that this language suited their music perfectly. In 2022, they released their fifth album on the Cologne label "gmo-the label" (Björn Heuser, Gerd Köster, Jenny and the Mexicats) with the title "l'univers parallèle".
