FALSE HEADS

Frankfurt, 09 August 2023 - Imagine Queens of the Stone Age meeting The Pixies, merged with a little pinch of The Ramones - you already have the British band FALSE HEADS in your ears. Exactly this explosive mixture comes to Germany for four shows at the end of the year: Cologne on November 29 (Blue Shell), Stuttgart on November 30 (Goldmarks), Berlin on December 4 (Urban Spree) and finally to Hamburg (December 5, HeadCRASH).
The three-piece rock-punk band from East London is undoubtedly one of the most talked about in recent years, embarking on a journey through social and cultural issues, political opinions and everything in between. "It's All There, But You're Dreaming" (2020) tackles issues that Luke Griffiths (vocals/guitar), Jake Elliott (bass) and Barney Nash (drums/vocals) have spoken openly about in their lyrics since their early days, making this album their own musical timeline.
The three members, who met at Coopers' Company and Coburn School in Upminster, reunited after university to make music together in late 2015. Although all three had collaborated creatively in the past and Griffiths had already released music under that title, 2015 marked the first time they performed together as FALSE HEADS. Former Ramones manager Danny Fields, who is also known for signing Iggy Pop & The Stooges and The MC5, became aware of FALSE HEADS later that year and began mentoring them, even declaring that they were "the future of rock and roll."
After releasing several singles in 2016 and performing at venues including the Roundhouse in July 2016 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Ramones' appearance, FALSE HEADS released their debut EP "Gutter Press" in March 2017, which was critically acclaimed and played at home and abroad. The band also went on to perform at a number of festivals - including the Isle of Wight, Y Not and Reading Festivals and supported The Libertines on their "Tiddeley Om Pom Pom Tour" later that year.
In November 2017, FALSE HEADS joined Frank Turner, Band of Skulls and Josh Homme on the program of "A Peaceful Noise," a show in memory of Nick Alexander, who was killed in the 2015 Bataclan terrorist attack. Shortly thereafter, The Independent included them in their list of those to keep an eye on in 2018, just before they then released their single "Retina" and the highly acclaimed EP "Less is Better" via Vallence Records in March 2018.
By 2019 at the latest, their music was celebrated worldwide and rewarded with placements in notable playlists on Spotify, Apple Music and the like. At the time, FALSE HEADS were in the Cambridge studio with producer Matty Moon to record their debut album 'It's All There But You're Dreaming'. The year was rounded off with the release of 'Slease' via Lovers Music and a nationwide UK tour with 'A' - all in preparation for 2020 by releasing the debut album in the midst of the start of Corona, and just 10 days before the UK went into total gridlock. The impact on the band was immediate, with gigs at SxSW and New Collosus in New York canceled, their first TV appearance in Germany and the tour for the debut album in question.
That didn't stop the praise from The Line Of Best Fit saying "you must listen to this album" - Louder Than War said FALSE HEADS are "a force to be reckoned with" & Pop Matters hailed the band's debut as "one of the best British rock albums of 2020". With the new album "Sick Moon", recorded and produced by Frank Turner and released in September 2022 via Scruff of the Neck, FALSE HEADS go one step further towards global success. Their reputation is as good as it's ever been, their sound is heard around the world, and their incredibly fearless live shows always end in perfect, controlled chaos.
The legendary Iggy Pop went so far as to praise the band as "young, talented and on the way up" and he's not wrong at all: FALSE HEADS are played all over the UK and beyond by a number of renowned broadcasters and placed on top streaming playlists, which now earn the band over 3 million streams around the world. High time to see the three Brits live on their German tour.
