In the organizer's words:
Release Tour 2026/2027
TOKUNBO - The queen of soft tones presents her new album The award-winning singer-songwriter TOKUNBO, former frontwoman of the acoustic soul-jazz combo Tok Tok Tok, comes with a brand new album.
jazz combo Tok Tok Tok, comes with a brand new album in her luggage. With her new work, TOKUNBO skillfully continues the history of folk noir and continues the album journey that she once began with the darkly beautiful album 'Queendom Come' and which most recently culminated in the highly acclaimed album 'Golden Days'.
Mentioned in the same breath as Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks and the Grand Dame of Folk, Joan Baez, her previous album celebrated international success, 'Golden Days' was awarded the Silver Medal of the Global Music Awards and the Grand Prize of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for the song 'Ray'. The album was presented on television on ARD Morgenmagazin, ARTE Journal and ARD Brisant.
Now TOKUNBO is opening a new musical chapter. With her unmistakable style, poetic storytelling and elegant instrumentation, she has once again created a sonic universe between folk, jazzy pop and warm-hearted country melancholy. Inspired by the dichotomies of life and carried by the longing to find her inner center, the new songs of the artist, who grew up between two cultures, breathe emotonic depth, musical experimentation and poetry.
Whether on the big stage with the NDR Radiophilharmonie, in an ESC talk with Barbara Schöneberger, as a juror for the German Jazz Prize or recently in a classical music project with arias from Verdi to Handel - TOKUNBO always impressively demonstrates her artistic versatility on the one hand, and her gift for filling music with soul on the other. Live, the full magic of the song poet and storyteller par excellence unfolds in her multi-faceted voice - sometimes delicate, sometimes earthy and dark - and her unique presence. Accompanied by her top-class band, TOKUNBO brings the sound colors of her new album to the stage and invites you into her mysterious song world with imaginative arrangements.
