treppenhausorchester trifft GroßPankChor = DISCO @ kultur.farm.festival
In the organizer's words:
The kickoff to the kultur.farm.festival 2026: The renowned Treppenhausorchester and the local GroßPankChor come together to create an unforgettable experience: One of Germany’s most innovative and pioneering orchestras and a choir from Prignitz, founded in 2025 and now consisting of 50 singers from the region. Together, they’ll sing everything from canons to folk songs, from pop hits to disco classics. Pure community, without pretension.
And then comes DISCO. The kultur.farm’s concert barn transforms into a club. A dance floor instead of rows of chairs. The trennenhausorchester is known for radical concert formats, brilliant ideas, and musical ingenuity. With “DISCO,” they show what the future of classical music can sound—and feel—like: a wildly danceable sonic frenzy of minimal grooves and live beats that collide with elements of contemporary music. And all without a single electronic sound.
To compositions by Carlos Cipa, Robin Haigh, Nwando Ebizie, Christoph König, Judd Greenstein, Christopher Böhm, Hans-Christian Stephan, and others, the audience and musicians merge into a pulsating mass. No distance. No polite reserve. Just movement.
The ensemble has already performed this program at festivals such as “Fusion” and “Detect Classic”—places where classical music reinvents itself and boundaries are simply ignored. New music for dancing? Exactly that.
Together with the GroßPankChor, this becomes an “Orchestra Disco Night.”
There will be singing.
There’ll be dancing.
And as they say here: until the roof comes off.
