Tristesse is part of our series of workshops exploring emotions through embodiment, creative, experimental design and encounters.
Let's follow the etymological traces of grief: trüren in Middle High German means to lower the head, to cast down the eyes; in Gothic, driusan shows us a similar direction: to fall, to become powerless. So mourning is not just a feeling - it translates into posture and physicality. A sinking. A becoming heavy. Towards the bottom.
It can be abysmal, seem groundless, pull the rug from under our feet, paralyze us - and yet at the same time it carries the inkling of a counter-movement. Grief comes quietly or takes us by surprise. It speaks from the eyes, spreads through the heart, bittersweet, falls away again and permeates us.
Grief arises where something was important.
Where something has been broken or gone.
It is an expression of connectedness - and of loss.
This workshop is not about analyzing or overcoming grief, not about holding on to pain. We approach it gently: in the body, through creative expression and in a shared exchange.
We are accompanied by the questions:
What is your relationship to grief?
How does it manifest itself? Does it have weight, color, temperature, direction?
What would you like to mourn?
And what can emerge when it is heard?
What awaits you
Gentle movement & embodiment support you in perceiving without overstraining - and in following your own pace.
Creative expression arises from experience: through painting, writing or free design.
Empathic communication opens up a space to encounter grief in a new way, as an important part of your emotional kaleidoscope.
You don't need any previous artistic, physical or theoretical experience - just an openness to what wants to show itself.
All genders are welcome.
Duration: 5 hours incl. break
On site: Material, tea & snacks as well as a soup/stew will be provided.
We ask for a donation at your own discretion.
