Mobile Dance Performances and Interactive Activities in Cologne-Kalk

TUN&LASSEN’s new production explores loneliness and the profound ambivalence that accompanies it: We all feel lonely at times, but we rarely talk about it. Loneliness often remains a silent shared experience—a state that comes and goes or lingers longer than we’d like.

Using dance and objects, TUN&LASSEN create low-threshold situations amid the everyday hustle and bustle of Cologne’s Kalk neighborhood. These invite people to connect, communicate playfully with one another, or simply observe. This creates an open meeting place in public space—and an opportunity to be there without knowing anyone, to participate without prior knowledge, and to help shape the experience in whatever way you can.

Passersby are invited to share their experiences—through words, images, or gestures. They can share their thoughts on the topic of loneliness and reflect on their own experiences. This results in a visible, growing collection of impressions that treats loneliness gently and empathetically as a shared experience and forges connections where they might not be expected.
Over the course of several weeks, a continuous presence will take shape in the neighborhood: without registration, free of charge, and under the open sky, art becomes an experience that’s part of everyday life.
