Film criticism between academic theory and journalistic practice - Free admission

Changing perspectives - this was the topic of a master's seminar designed by Dr. Stephan Brössel and Niklas Lotz B.A. in the "Cultural Poetics of Literature and Media" course at the University of Münster. Under the title "Writing about Cinema", the theory and practice of film criticism were brought into a dialog, historical stages from the 1920s to the present day were traced and finally film contributions to the LITFILMS festival were discussed. The reviews of the competition films can be found on the festival website. The seminar was held in cooperation with film journalist Daniel Kothenschulte. In a short presentation, the students will give an insight into their work. This will be followed by an open discussion.
