UNHEARD: Irma Neumüller

In our Unheard series, a singer grabs the microphone who has already caused many an aha effect in her Swedish homeland and beyond the country's borders: Irma Neumüller. With charm, a warm timbre, a vocal richness of facets, an unerring sense of swing, a feeling for ornamentation and the right amount of improvisational freedom, she intones songs in Swedish and English and is always close to the tradition of jazz singing.

The Unheard series already celebrated successes at the Unterfahrt in 2019 and 2021 and is now being continued this year with eight concerts in Einstein Kultur's Halle 4. Developed as a project with the JazzStiftung München and curated by Unterfahrt and mucjazz e.V., the program is dedicated to providing a forum for promising young musicians from various competitions (including the Munich Jazz Prize) and giving them the attention they have long deserved.
