UPRIGHT CITIZENS + Erection
In the organizer's words:
Upright Citizens was one of the first German punk bands to write lyrics in English. The band from the Ruhr region released its first LP as early as 1982. That same year, the Bottrop-based band headlined the Toten Hosen’s first gig in Bremen.[1] In 1985, they became the first German punk rock band to tour across the United States for six weeks. The 1980s and early 1990s were the most successful years in the band’s 22-year history. In addition to releasing various albums, Upright Citizens earned a reputation as a spectacular live act, which they also demonstrated as “special guests” for punk legends such as the Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, UK Subs, and many others.
The original lineup consisted of Anton (vocals, guitar), Uli (guitar), Crocker (bass), and Mario (drums). In 1989, the lineup changed, as did the band’s musical direction—with Alex (drums) and Chris (“Mütze”; guitar), now members of Mofagang and Eisenpimmel, respectively, new influences found their way into the band. The songs evolved, moving away from fast, political hardcore punk toward a sound that did justice to both parts of the term “punk rock.” The CDs released in the following years, as well as Upright Citizens’ live shows, were often compared within the punk scene to the American band Social Distortion. In the spring of 2003, Upright Citizens played their final concert aboard a chartered sightseeing steamboat on the Rhine.
Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, we’re back—we’ve played benefit concerts for Ukraine, performed at several festivals (including the Ruhrpott Rodeo), and given shows in Switzerland, Dresden, Münster, and Wilhelmshaven. It’s fun to rock out again....

Erection—that’s juicy punk ’n’ roll from Regensburg.
Explosive, uncompromising, and with a healthy dose of attitude: ERECTION stands for energetic power punk with attitude, humor, and a sharp edge. The band combines snotty punk rock with feminist strength, self-determination, and an unstoppable drive—in short: power punk ’n’ roll just the way it should sound.
Frontwoman Julia, the charismatic Queen of Punk, leads the lineup, accompanied by Schtiefn, the sex god on guitar. Tino, the wild whirlwind on bass, and Andi, Tobi, and none other than Vom Ritchie (Die Toten Hosen) share the drums.
Vom Ritchie is also the drummer on the upcoming ERECTION album, which is already highly anticipated.
The songs: loud, political, empowering—with a live energy that’s instantly contagious. Anyone who’s seen ERECTION live knows: This is more than just music—it’s a mission. And every show is a promise: sweat, ecstasy, and 100% punk spirit.
