More than almost any other district in Cologne, it stands for the coexistence of many cultures and a rich street life with international stores, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Until 2018, even the Gaffel brewery was located directly on Eigelstein, regularly immersing the district in a cloud of barley malt, yeast and hops.
