Urlaub in Köln | Köln von oben | Radtour

In the organizer's words:

If you want to see Cologne from the perspective of a bird, climb with us to towers and rooftops of the city that are otherwise inaccessible.

As always, we have found new locations: The roof terrace of the Lanxess Tower at Deutzer Brückenkopf is included for the first time.

We start on the roof terrace of the Hansahochhaus. Jacob Koerfer's 65-metre Hansahochhaus was the tallest skyscraper in Europe in 1925 - but only for a short time, as other major cities followed suit. The Koerfer Group built a small roof terrace on the roof, from which we can look in all directions. August Sander portrayed Cologne from above from here in the 1930s. And the paternoster elevator still goes up to the 11th floor.

We enjoy the next special view of Cologne from the church tower of the Severinskirche. On one side, we observe the lively southern part of the city with its small alleyways. On the other side, the view of the Rheinauhafen opens up. Modern architecture and Cologne's soul can be captured here in one fell swoop.

Finally, we visit the roof terrace of the Lanxess Tower in Deutz, from here you have the most beautiful view of Cologne's old town.

We would like to thank Ms. Steinmeier and the Koerfer Group for giving us access to the roof terrace of the Hansahochhaus and Cristina Dahn from Lanxess for the opportunity to visit her building.
