In the organizer's words:
The city of Cologne has many parks that are the envy of other cities. Over a hundred years ago, urban planner Fritz Schumacher and master gardener Fritz Encke realized that the growing city of Cologne needed a green lung. What you can still feel today is the fresh air from the Eifel, which "blows in" through the Volkspark Raderthal and Volksgarten Köln. Our first cycle tour in the "Cologne in four stages" series starts right there, in the Volksgarten. Bernd Imgrund has not only written bestselling city guides about Cologne, but has also been guiding people through his home city on foot and by bike for years. He knows why the Prussians laid milestones on the Brühler Landstraße and tells us why the Immendorf church stands on a hill. He also leads us along secret paths from Godorf to the Hahnwald forest, where people prefer to keep to themselves. The tour ends in the Volksgarten.
