In the organizer's words:
The former industrial site has changed considerably over the last 30 years. The new Bürgerpark provides a green accent, the Lanxess Arena stands out architecturally. The Deutz-Kalker Bad is a symbol of the boxing history of the right bank of the Rhine, and the former water tower is a relic of the chemical factory. On Kalker Hauptstraße, we follow in the footsteps of the legendary Karl Küpper - the carnivalist who dared to stand up to the Nazis. The tour ends at the former Sünner beer garden, the old colliery brewery that is now called Brauwelt.
