This concert takes place as part of the Sounds of Ukraine festival and is dedicated to two extraordinary composers who are often described as masters of silence: Valentin Silvestrov and Gia Kancheli.
Their music is a quiet but powerful response to the hectic pace and noise of our time. The program includes Silvestrov's Melodies of Moments and Kancheli's Letters to Friends - works about fleeting moments, inner balance and human closeness.
A special highlight of the evening is the performance by Ukrainian violinist Nazariy Pylatyuk, whose playing lends this music great depth and intensity. Violina Petrychenko, artistic director of the festival, has lived in Cologne for many years and is a committed mediator of Ukrainian music in Europe.
The concert will take place in the O-Ton Studio - an intimate, warm room with an atmosphere that is perfect for this music.
An evening for everyone who wants to come to rest.
For everyone who wants to listen.
For all those who want to experience silence as power.
